Community Outreach Medical Program

Community Outreach Medical Program, abbreviated as COMM, is committed to understanding and addressing the health and wellness needs of the medically underserved and their household members who reside or work in Teton County, Wyoming. The organization's mission is centered around serving this specific population, ensuring they receive the necessary medical care and support they require. COMM operates with a vision to extend its services to as many individuals as possible, making a meaningful impact on their overall well-being.

During its operational period, COMM demonstrated its commitment to its mission by providing medical assistance once a week for 48 weeks annually. A team of skilled volunteers, including advanced-level medical practitioners such as MDs, PAs, and LPNs, along with 18 dedicated nurses, offered their services. They examined a total of 1,078 patients, with 195 of them being new patients. The volunteer force also included 14 additional individuals who assisted with front desk duties and provided Spanish translation services, ensuring effective communication and accessibility for all patients.

Moreover, COMM collaborated with Teton County Public Health to offer COVID-19 vaccines to its patients. Additionally, the program became a pick-up site for Holle Food Rescue's no-cost grocery program, furthering its mission to address the health and wellness needs of its patients by providing them with nutritious food options. This multi-faceted approach to healthcare and wellness demonstrates COMM's dedication to understanding and serving the unique needs of the medically underserved in Teton County, Wyoming.
