Nosotros

Nosotros, a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to providing social services to disadvantaged members of the Mexican American community in Southern Arizona. At the heart of its mission is the desire to make a positive impact in the lives of this community. To achieve this, Nosotros has established a charter school that caters to students from grades K-12. This alternative educational environment, approved by the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools, offers an alternative to the traditional high school, middle school, and elementary school setting.

The charter school, operated by Nosotros, Inc. through its 100% ownership of Nosotros Academy, LLC, began operations in August 2002. It uses public funds provided by the Arizona Department of Education and is open to all eligible high school, middle school, and elementary school students. Nosotros, Inc.'s operation of the charter school did not affect its exempt status, as confirmed by the Internal Revenue Service in a letter dated November 5, 2002.

In essence, Nosotros' mission is twofold: to provide educational opportunities and to support the disadvantaged Mexican American community in Southern Arizona. Through its charter school, Nosotros offers an alternative educational environment for students, while also using its resources to serve the community's needs. This approach reflects Nosotros' commitment to empowering and uplifting the Mexican American community in Southern Arizona.
