Justice For Greenwood Foundation

The Justice For Greenwood Foundation is dedicated to securing justice and reparations for the Greenwood community and its diaspora. This is achieved through a multifaceted approach that includes direct services, public education, and advocacy. The organization provides support for several impact litigations, such as public nuisance, probate, and misappropriation cases, and a tribal and federal case concerning the restoration of Black Creek freedman rights.

Beyond legal proceedings, the Foundation also launches advocacy campaigns on a federal level, pushing for investigations into massacres and the protection of civil and citizenship rights. They have organized key campaigns like JusticeForBlackCreeks, the Anti-DNA campaign, and DontDisMussUs (Tulsa Race Massacre), which involve educational forums, digital petition drives, and peaceful protests. The Executive Director of the Foundation has made over 250 print, radio, TV, and podcast appearances to educate the public about the fight for truth, justice, and reparations.

The Foundation also hosts numerous town hall meetings, IG and Twitter 'lives', and events to inform, educate, and mobilize the general public. They have added a world-class genealogist to their team, who has been instrumental in researching, identifying, and documenting the lineage of individuals and entities that experienced the massacre and its immediate aftermath. As a result, 55 members of the Greenwood descendant community were chronicled, and 16 additional oral histories were collected in 2022.
