Soulful Seeds is making a significant impact by providing healthy, sustainable fresh produce to the vulnerable food insecure in our community. Through building neighborhood and community gardens and teaching individuals how to grow their own food, Soulful Seeds is directly addressing food insecurity in Reno, NV. With the help of the Cares Act Grant, they were able to make a down payment on a service van and provide 13,000 lbs of food, including fresh dairy, meat, and produce, to the un-housed populations in Reno, serving approximately 1,000 people.
Additionally, Soulful Seeds grew around 6,250 lbs of produce on just 3,000 square feet of land and estimate they served 2,000 Washoe County residents through produce distribution at local food banks. This impact not only provides much-needed nutrition to those in need but also empowers individuals to learn how to grow their own food and become more self-sufficient. Soulful Seeds' dedication to expanding their support and reach further demonstrates their commitment to creating a healthier and more food-secure community.
