Jolt Initiative

The Jolt Initiative is a non-profit organization that aims to boost the civic engagement of Latinos in Texas, fostering a more inclusive democracy where every voice is heard. To achieve this mission, Jolt Initiative has developed various programs. One of its key initiatives is the Organizing Program, which empowers grassroots leaders, primarily young and female, to instigate policy changes within their communities and encourage others to take action.

As part of its mission, Jolt Initiative supports its members in exercising power through four programmatic areas: Arts and Culture, Non-Partisan Voter Registration, Leadership Development, and Student and Community Organizing. The Arts and Culture program brings together young people of color in Texas's major metropolitan areas and universities, advocating for the adoption of green energy goals in alignment with the original Paris Climate Commitments for the United States.

In addition to the Arts and Culture program, Jolt Initiative conducts Non-Partisan Voter Registration drives, fostering civic awareness and encouraging political participation among Latinos in Texas. Furthermore, Jolt Initiative invests in Leadership Development, nurturing the next generation of Latino leaders. Lastly, the Student and Community Organizing program engages college students and communities in advocacy initiatives, rallying support for policy changes that reflect the needs and aspirations of Latino communities in Texas.
