Dart (Domestic Abuse Resistance Team)

Dart, short for Domestic Abuse Resistance Team, is committed to providing crucial support to victims of domestic violence in several parishes. Its mission is centered around offering counseling, legal advocacy, and addressing the shelter needs of individuals who have fallen victim to domestic violence in Lincoln, Bienville, Union, Claiborne, Jackson, Grant, and Winn. The organization serves as a beacon of hope for over 600 women and children annually, providing them with essential resources to navigate their challenging situations.

In the pursuit of its mission, Dart offers emergency shelter to those in need, providing a safe haven for approximately 33 women and children every year. Beyond shelter, the organization conducts numerous support groups for women and children, fostering a sense of community and empowerment. Furthermore, Dart extends its reach through community education and awareness campaigns, engaging with over 4,700 participants through more than 176 presentations.
