Carolina Family Health Centers, Inc. is a non-profit community health center dedicated to providing accessible and affordable healthcare to individuals in Edgecombe, Nash, and Wilson Counties. Carolina Family Health Centers, Inc. was established in 1993 as a result of a grass-roots effort by local residents. The organization initially received funding through the NC Office of Rural Health and a private endowment. In 1999, it was successful in bidding for federally qualified status and now offers healthcare services through three primary departments: medical (including behavioral health), dental, and pharmacy. Uninsured patients are charged based on a sliding fee scale, with the lowest-ranking individuals paying a nominal fee of $20 for each medical visit and $50 for each dental visit. In fiscal year 2022, the organization served 26,546 patients, providing $7,571,955 in unbilled care.

Pharmaceuticals are made available to all patients at a reduced rate, thanks to the organization's ability to purchase medications through the federal 340B program. Interpreters, trained in medical terminology, are available free of charge to assist Spanish-speaking patients, as well as those requiring services for over 200 languages and the hearing impaired. Carolina Family Health Centers, Inc. operates from Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with each clinical site open during evening hours once a week.
