Room In The Inn - Memphis, as a nonprofit organization, is committed to providing a safe and hospitable environment for individuals, families, and the medically fragile who are experiencing homelessness. Their mission is centered around sheltering these individuals, offering them food, and assisting them in their journey towards permanent housing. The organization operates three programs: a winter emergency shelter for street-level individuals, a year-round emergency shelter for families, and respite care for medically fragile individuals.

By partnering with over 900 volunteers, businesses, corporations, foundations, and government grants, Room In The Inn - Memphis is able to provide over 20,650 hours of shelter, transportation, and hospitality to those in need. During the fiscal year, they managed to shelter 1,013 individuals, house 129 families, and provide respite care for 51 medically fragile individuals. The organization serves approximately 26,000 meals through these programs.

The Congregational Shelter program allows a network of 29 diverse congregations to open their doors, providing warm and safe beds for individuals experiencing street-level homelessness. The Family Inn program offers temporary housing to families, providing them with meals and supportive services while they work towards permanent housing. The Recuperative Care Center provides a safe place for medically fragile individuals to rest, recover, and secure needed resources.

Room In The Inn - Memphis is actively addressing the need for emergency and temporary shelter for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. During the pandemic, they identified gaps in temporary shelter for families and case management services for families during the Rapid Rehousing process. In response, they expanded their programs to include a permanent Family Inn and Recuperative Care Center, filling these service gaps and providing additional support to those in need.
