Mission Statement of Dazzle Africa
Dazzle Africa, a 501 (C)(3) charity, is dedicated to collaborating with local organizations in Mfuwe, Zambia, to establish sustainable ecosystems for the benefit of the land, people, and wildlife in Zambia. Through the support of individual donors, families, and businesses, Dazzle Africa funds critical projects in wildlife conservation, education, and community development.
The mission of Dazzle Africa is to partner with locally based organizations in Zambia to create sustainable ecosystems for the land, people, and wildlife in this African country. Dazzle Africa recognizes the unique role Zambia plays as a crossroads for connectivity, connecting Eastern and Southern African populations, sharing four transfrontier conservation areas, and managing over 30% of its land for wildlife uses. However, African wildlife in South Luangwa Valley, Zambia, faces significant threats, including poaching, habitat loss, and human-wildlife conflicts. African elephants are hunted for their tusks and sometimes skin, lions for their bones, and other animals, such as endangered wild dogs, unintentionally become victims of poaching due to indiscriminate wire snaring.
To combat these threats, Dazzle Africa works with Implementing Partners, Conservation South Luangwa and the Zambian Carnivore Programme, to eliminate poaching, reduce human-wildlife conflicts, build capacity for sustainable community conservation initiatives, and research and monitor key species. In 2022, Dazzle Africa has several conservation projects underway, including a wildlife veterinarian program, anti-poaching scout support, a women in wildlife program, a helicopter program for anti-poaching and monitoring, a Cessna 180 airplane for anti-poaching and research, the Conservation Soccer Team and Radio Show, university-sponsored students, and the Conservation Biologist Training Program. These initiatives aim to protect wildlife, promote community development, and foster sustainable practices for a brighter future.
