Patriots And Paws

Patriots and Paws, a nonprofit organization established in November 2011, is dedicated to assisting veterans, active military, and reservists, along with their families, by providing them with essential home furnishings and offering companionship through small animals. Recognizing the hardships faced by many of these individuals, who have either been homeless or recently acquired housing, Patriots and Paws aims to restore their dignity and instill hope.

The organization's Provisions for Patriots program serves as its largest initiative, offering a warehouse environment where veterans and their families can obtain necessary home furnishings such as beds, dressers, and dining room sets. Since its inception, this program has provided assistance to over 10,500 individuals throughout Southern California. Another program, Paws Partners, has experienced a transformation due to a new law allowing veterans in California to adopt animals at no cost from county shelters, thereby benefiting both the shelters and the animals themselves. Patriots and Paws is currently working on creating a kennel to accommodate veterans' pets while they attend to their personal and medical needs.

By providing these vital services, Patriots and Paws helps many veterans find a sense of purpose through pet ownership. The organization's dedicated volunteers have contributed over 125,000 hours since its inception, with donations covering operational expenses, including monthly rent, payroll, insurance, utilities, and fuel costs. The generosity of these donors enables Patriots and Paws to continue its mission of serving those who have served our country and securing the freedom we enjoy today.
