The Tyler Clementi Foundation Inc

The Tyler Clementi Foundation, named after a young man who tragically took his life following cyberbullying, is committed to eradicating bullying in various settings. This nonprofit organization focuses on eliminating bullying in schools, workplaces, and faith communities. To achieve its mission, The Tyler Clementi Foundation implements several bullying prevention and education programs. These initiatives include the Upspeak Pledge, Day 1, Upstander Speaker Series, Tylers Suite, Workplace Training, and True Faith Doesnt Bully.

The Upspeak Pledge is a commitment made by individuals to actively stand against bullying and promote respect and kindness. Day 1 is a program that aims to prevent bullying by encouraging schools to establish a positive climate from the very first day of the school year. The Upstander Speaker Series invites influential speakers to share their experiences and inspire others to become upstanders against bullying. Tylers Suite is a safe space for students to report bullying incidents and seek support, while Workplace Training equips employers with the tools to address bullying in the workplace. True Faith Doesnt Bully is a faith-based initiative that encourages religious communities to adopt zero-tolerance policies towards bullying.

In addition to these programs, The Tyler Clementi Foundation has also advocated for the Tyler Clementi Higher Education Anti-Harassment Act. This federal bill proposes that colleges and universities receiving federal funding should prohibit harassment based on various protected characteristics, such as race, color, national origin, sex, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or religion. This legislation aims to create safer learning environments for all students.
