Upper Columbia Salmon Recovery Board

The Upper Columbia Salmon Recovery Board (UCSRB) is a mission-driven organization dedicated to the collaborative restoration and preservation of viable and sustainable salmon and steelhead populations, as well as other at-risk species, in the Upper Columbia Region. UCSRB's primary goal is to combine resources and employ wise resource management practices to ensure the health and survival of these species.

To achieve this mission, UCSRB coordinates the implementation of the Upper Columbia Spring Chinook Salmon and Steelhead Recovery Plan. This plan focuses on restoring and preserving habitat for salmonids listed under the Endangered Species Act, using both direct and leveraged funding to support partners in implementing restoration and protection projects throughout the Upper Columbia Region.

Moreover, UCSRB's efforts extend beyond direct project implementation. The organization plays a pivotal role in informing federal, state, local, and tribal agencies, as well as NGOs and agency project sponsors, through science and policy initiatives. These initiatives assist partners in project planning, prioritization, and development, ensuring that restoration and protection efforts are well-informed and effective.

Additionally, UCSRB facilitates the North Central Washington Forest Health Collaborative, an initiative bringing together diverse forest stakeholders to work with the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) in accelerating restoration efforts on USFS-managed lands. Through these collaborative efforts, UCSRB aims to foster a more comprehensive and coordinated approach to restoring and preserving the Upper Columbia Region's valuable salmon and steelhead populations.
